I’m honored to have had the opportunity to create a special commission for the Vernon Filley Art Museum.  This oil painting has been contemplated for quite some time, the process of creation documented for the purpose of sharing, and has many stories and connections not only to this land here in Kansas but also to the world and beyond!   The overarching theme of the painting is about the connection between us, the Earth, and our Creator/God.  The idea that we are here on Earth for a short time as guardians of the planet, to create, enjoy, and experience ourselves as spirit/soul in human form and to then return back to the Great Spirit, God, the All That Is, and many other names for the Divine, is the underlying idea in all beliefs and religions, only expressed
