Gateway to the Mythic Gardens - Persephone This piece is part of a series of seven oil paintings with pressed flowers that I created as part of my work with the Anima Mundi School in Amsterdam, Netherlands.  The focus for these paintings  was around the idea of  reclaiming the mythical feminine and working with archetypes of the subconscious realms in much the same manner as Swiss psychiatrist Carl Jung brought to light in his life long research.  Each painting represents a specific story or myth of a feminine being or goddess from different parts of the world which I have transformed alchemically into a garden / nature scene.
